About Us
Young Filmmakers Bali is an international cinema program created in 2016 to introduce children to the world of filmmaking in a playful, creative and age-appropriate way.
We teach kids the fundamentals of short-film production, acting and directing through fun, hands-on activities where they become the heroes of their own stories.
More than 2000 children from many nationalities have joined our programs and created over 150 short films since our debut
Dear parents,
At Young Filmmakers Bali, our mission is to give children access to a real cinematography education — something usually reserved for older students — but redesigned for young minds with a fun, engaging and hands-on approach.
Founded in 2016 at the French School of Bali, our program has since expanded to several international schools and to our cinema studio in Canggu, where we run after-school classes, weekend workshops and holiday camps. Over the years, children from many nationalities have imagined, acted in and produced an impressive collection of short films, many of which have received awards in international festivals and can be viewed on our YouTube channel.
We believe in the strong educational value of filmmaking: children learn to structure ideas, write stories, develop characters, organize a film shoot, collaborate as a team, express themselves on camera and grow their artistic sense. Through this creative and collective process, they build confidence, improve communication skills and develop emotional intelligence.
Our goal is to offer a supportive, inspiring environment where every child feels safe to express their creativity and shine. At the end of the year, parents are invited to a special film screening to celebrate their child’s work and enjoy their production together.
